Year 4 Choir takes centre stage at Hobart Eisteddfod

Posted on in Junior School

The St Mary’s College Year 4 Choir had some exceptional success in the 2024 City of Hobart Eisteddfod achieving first place in the ‘Year 6 and Under Choral Section’.

Displaying bravery and enthusiasm, the choir took to the stage at the Hobart Town Hall to delight audience members with their magnificent renditions of Bare Necessities and The Night Wind.

In addition to their beautiful singing, the choir was commended for their energy, accuracy, rhythm, clapping, dynamics and mood setting.

The students were very excited to return to the College with the Junior Choral Trophy, which will be on display in the Music Room for the next 12 months.

The Year 4 cohort should be very proud of this fantastic achievement. Special thanks must go to the Year 4 teachers, Mary Heferen-Faulkner (Junior Music Teacher) and Michael Power (Assistant Coordinator of Music) for their dedication and work behind the scenes in preparing the students for the occasion. Bravo!
